Do you accept insurance?
If you are choosing our diagnostic services, we do not submit to insurance at this time. You will receive a “Paid in Full” invoice on the day of your ultrasound, which you may submit to your insurance for reimbursement. Insurance companies do not cover the cost of elective gender determination and 3D Ultrasounds.
Do the elective ultrasounds take the place of the ultrasound ordered by my physician?
If you are choosing us for your diagnostic ultrasound needs, your provider (doctor/midwife) must provide an order for each exam. Women choosing to use our elective ultrasound service must already be under the care of a certified healthcare provider and have already had a diagnostic ultrasound.
Why is this ultrasound considered limited diagnostic?
Your elective prenatal ultrasound includes a limited diagnostic scan to confirm a heartbeat, baby’s position, and number of babies present in your womb, and does not take the place of any ultrasounds ordered by your provider.
Is ultrasound safe?
There’s no evidence that ultrasound is harmful, if used according to the guidelines. The sonographer will follow all the right guidelines to ensure that you and your baby are safe. 3D and 4D scans are just as safe as 2D scans, because the image is made up of sections of two-dimensional images converted into a picture. The power intensity is the same.
Am I guaranteed the determination of the sex of my baby?
We will do anything within reason to try to get baby to move their legs during your allotted scan time. Sometimes baby can be just too stubborn, in which case we will reschedule and try again at no additional charge.
Am I guaranteed good pictures of my baby?
We cannot promise the perfect picture every time. The size of the baby, the amount of amniotic fluid, maternal body habitus, and or the position of the baby at the time of the ultrasound are a few factors that could prevent baby’s perfect image. We recommend you make an extra effort to keep hydrated (drink water) in the days leading up to your scheduled appointment.
What should I wear?
We recommend you wear pants and a loose top. Your belly will need to be exposed in order to perform the ultrasound.
What is the best time during my pregnancy to have a 3D ultrasound?
27-35 weeks. having twins? 24-27 weeks
